Johann Sebastian Bach: Trio Sonatas

Only three trio sonatas by Bach survive, yet they are amongst the most beautiful and profound of the baroque genre. The three surviving sonatas for Viola da Gamba (their probable original form) are also really trios and provide an ideal extension of the programme, making it possible to hear one of the sonatas in two different versions.
